Makhachev's Lightning Victory Shocks UFC World 

In UFC 294, Islam Makhachev retained his UFC lightweight title with a first-round stoppage of Alexander Volkanovski, concluding their fierce rivalry.

Volkanovski, the featherweight champion, accepted the fight on short notice, replacing Charles Oliveira due to injury, and moved up in weight class. 

The rematch followed their previous bout at UFC 284, where Makhachev won by unanimous decision in a closely contested fight. 

· This time, the fight didn't go past 3:06 of the first round as Makhachev executed a head kick takedown and finished Volkanovski with ground strikes.
